A: IRS forms and publications can be downloaded from the IRS website at www.irs.gov and copies of current and prior year tax forms can be ordered by calling the IRS at 800-829-3676, spokesman Mark Green told Q&A on the News in an email. Please allow 7-15 days for processing and shipping.
You can order up to 10 different products and you will receive two copies of each ordered form and one copy of each ordered publication. Instructions for completing the tax forms will be included. If you need more than the quantity allowed, please call 800-829-3676 to place your order.
If a product is not available when you place your order, the IRS will send it as soon as it becomes available. Please do not place another order.
Publication 17 is no longer available in print, but is available electronically at IRS.gov/pub17. IRS forms might be available at libraries, but check with your branch.
Georgia tax forms can be downloaded at dor.georgia.gov/popular-forms or you can call the Georgia Department of Revenue at 877-423-6711 and then hit 2 and 6 when prompted.
The department used to distribute forms to post offices and libraries, but eliminated that practice because of increasing costs and the “rise of electronic filing,” a spokesman told Q&A on the News in an email.
