The teen who was the subject of an extensive Cobb County manhunt Tuesday turned himself in Wednesday afternoon, police said.
Yanni Abraham Reyes, 17, was charged with burglary, aggravated assault, possession of a firearm or knife during the commission of a felony, and possession of a pistol or revolver by a person under 18, according to jail records.
Cobb police spokesman Sgt. Dana Pierce said Reyes was turned over to police by his mother.
Reyes is accused of breaking into an apartment unit at the Greenhouse Patio Apartments on Tuesday afternoon and aiming a handgun at the resident when they encountered one another, police said.
The teen lives in the apartment complex, Pierce said.
Police said Reyes, who is also known as Yanni Reyes Gonzalez, fled the apartment.
Tuesday afternoon, police from Kennesaw, Cobb, Kennesaw State University and the Georgia State Patrol began hunting for the teen after he was allegedly spotted burglarizing an apartment in the area, authorities said.
He is at the Cobb County Adult Detention Center in lieu of $27,720 bond, according to jail records.
