Democratic U.S. Senate candidate Jim Barksdale on Wednesday ,September 15, 2016 on his campaign website:
In Georgia, women earn 82 cents for every dollar earned by men.
Technically, that is true for full-time workers as a very broad measure.
But the statement is missing substantial context needed to fully grasp a very complex issue.
When asked for clarification, Barksdale’s campaign issued a statement that veered in to the equal-pay-for-equal-work argument, something the study behind the statement did not attempt to address.
Barksdale’s statement is accurate but misleading.

Donald Trump on Wednesday, August 31st, 2016 in a press conference in Mexico:
Says U.S.-Mexico border has “1 million legal border crossings each and every day.”
Border patrol and Transportation Department data show there are around half a million daily border crossings from Mexico into the United States. While that number doesn’t necessarily represent unique individuals (rather total crossings), the border region is home to about 14 million people, many who cross back and forth between the nations to go to school, work and for recreational purposes.
So while there isn’t a hard number pointing to the 1 million total crossings, experts believe it’s a plausible estimate given the needs of the millions of people who live in the border region.
With that caveat, we rated Trump’s statement Mostly True.
Hillary Clinton on Monday, September 12th, 2016 in an interview on CNN:
“You’ve got a medical report on me that meets the same standard as Mitt Romney and Barack Obama.”
If Romney and Obama exemplify a standard, then the information Clinton has provided to the public is on a comparable level.
But Clinton’s statement implies a standard that doesn’t really exist, according to the experts. And both the quality and quantity of information on presidential candidates has varied widely.
Because the statement is accurate but needs clarification or additional information, we rated it Mostly True.

Says Hillary Clinton had an “undercover nurse” with her at the Sept. 11 memorial ceremony in New York.
Bloggers started a rumor that photos showed Clinton with an “undercover nurse” at the Sept. 11 memorial in New York. The undercover nurse then became Clinton’s personal doctor.
Neither is true. The woman in the photos is a former Clinton staffer who was helping at the memorial.
