Miamisburg High School in Miamisburg, Ohio crowned Xavier Atkinson and Rachel Goris, both special needs students, homecoming king and queen Friday night.
The video of their presentation at the dance on Saturday, posted by Atkinson’s father on Facebook, has already been viewed more than 21,000 times.
Atkinson’s younger sister, Xailey, tweeted on Sept. 10 asking for the senior class to nominate Atkinson and Goris, longtime friends, to homecoming court. The senior class did just that.
Xavier and Rachel are still beaming with excitement. Xailey Atkinson said her brother has even been wearing his crown around the house at times during the past few days.
