If you know the man shown in the attached cell phone picture, Marietta police want to hear from you. That’s because he is accused of assaulting a taxi driver last month.
The suspect left behind his cell phone, along with various “selfies” and a resume, according to police. That information helped police identify the man as Harold Lee Clinton, according to Officer David Baldwin. But on Thursday, he remained on the loose.
Cecilio Garcia previously told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution he drove a customer in his Rayo Taxi about 6 miles on July 11. But when Garcia stopped the car on Juliet Lane, his customer began to fight with him and pulled out a knife.
“I had a fight with him inside the taxi,” Garcia said. “He started to hit me in the face.”
Garcia was repeatedly stabbed and required stitches on his face, the back of his head and his chest, according to police. But he found a key piece of evidence inside the taxi and gave it to police: the suspect’s cell phone. Garcia told police the man pictured on the phone was the same one who attacked him.
An arrest warrant was issued for Clinton, of Marietta, charging him with aggravated assault, aggravated battery and possession of a knife during the commission of a crime. But Thursday afternoon, Clinton had not been arrested, according to police. When he is arrested, his bond is expected to be set at $100,000, the arrest warrant states.
Anyone with information on Clinton’s whereabouts is asked to contact Marietta police at 770-794-6990. Callers can remain anonymous.
