Cagle, GOP wrong to punish Delta
I am disgusted by Lt. Gov. Casey Cagle and Republicans in the Georgia State Senate in attempting to punish Delta Air Lines because of its decision to end a discount program with the NRA. This is governmental overreach at its most egregious. Since when do conservatives support using the government to punish private industry? Since when do our legislators support undermining the state’s largest private employer? Apparently the “free market” only gets to be free when it pleases Republicans. If there are legitimate budgetary reasons to eliminate Delta’s tax breaks, fine. But Cagle’s remarks on Twitter made it quite clear that he intends to use our state Legislature to exact his personal revenge.

Trump, family are made for these times
Listening to our children – these articulate, courageous and traumatized young people – is a moving experience. CNN’s recent Town Hall discussion was awesome. Although President Donald Trump’s listening session was “stacked,” gun-ban supporters believe Trump won’t do what is necessary – and he has made only baby steps thus far. Trump is made of sterner stuff. Abraham Lincoln went against the tide in issuing his Emancipation Proclamation. By doing so, he galvanized the nation, attaining the moral authority – the holy, righteous spirit – which brought about the Union victory. Trump has been put in place “for such a time as this,” and I have no doubt he will act with courage and boldness. Trump is seeking to be a righteous, holy person, and surely the prayers of the faithful are covering him, Melania and their loved ones, and his administration with divine protection. May God bless the U.S.A.
