President is a doer, not a talker
I love Donald Trump almost more than I despise George W. Bush. When I see a young man maimed in such a way I think a) did Bush do this to him, and why hasn’t Bush been prosecuted for war crimes? b) did this young man never realize that he had been duped by a foolish government into believing he was “fighting for our freedom,” and there were weapons of mass destruction? and c) how could Barack Obama (a self-proclaimed advocate of a rule of law) ignore what Bush did, then refuse to prosecute so obvious a war crime because he didn’t “want to look back?” There are men who talk a good game, and men who try to do what is right without all the talk. Trump is a doer, not a talker.
Trump is a straight-from-the-shoulder type, who believes he has an obligation to tell it like it is, do what he promised, and let the chips fall where they may. This offends the new radical left. The truth always does. To me, it is a breath of fresh air.

Trump heralded atmosphere of nastiness
It was almost humorous to read the self-described “avid Trump supporter” bemoan the treatment our current president is receiving, even going so far as to claim that it is “unlike” what any other president in our history has experienced (“Media plays role in inciting violence,” Readers Write, June 28). I wonder if this letter-writer was following politics just a few years ago when Trump was promoting baseless claims about President Obama’s birth certificate, or has heard his continuing disparaging of Hillary Clinton as “crooked Hillary” (an unprecedented way for a modern president to refer to an opponent). These are just two of many examples of the nastiness Trump has emitted in our political environment. There is a certain saying about what karma is that comes to mind her,e but the one that says “what goes around comes around” will have to do for a family newspaper.
