A recent Wall Street Journal story noted that Atlanta leads the nation among big cities in the large percentage of new rental properties defined as “luxury.” We asked city officials to address this and explain what’s being done to also meet middle-class and lower-income demand for affordable rentals. The city’s response leads today’s page, paired with a column by a Georgia Tech planning expert who looks at how Atlanta can truly commit to offering options across the economic spectrum.
