A lot happened last week in Georgia education. The state released school and district results from the inaugural round of the Georgia Milestones, prompting one Atlanta middle school teacher to ask in a column whether the tests do anything to improve instruction. The Governor’s Education Reform Commission finalized recommendations to change how Georgia funds schools, winning praise from the head of a national education foundation founded by Jeb Bush but skepticism from readers.
