Two northside law officers have graduated from a prestigious training program designed to put them in line for senior leadership roles.

Sandy Springs Police Sgt. Frank Trammer and Woodstock Lt. Matthew O' Keefe graduated last week from the Northwestern University School of Police Staff and Command. It's a rigorous ten-week course of study taught by the university's School of Public Safety. The program's website said it covers a wide range of topics, including budgeting, grant writing, human resources, leadership and management and media relations.

Trammer served as class president for the program for the course's 380th session, which was hosted locally by Kennesaw State University. Two dozen officers from throughout the state of Georgia took part. The specialized program began in late May and concluded Aug. 14.
