The Dunwoody Nature Center has launched its 2013 annual fund campaign with a stated goal of raising $45,000. The center in the past year has underwritten more than 1,000 field trip scholarships for students from Title 1 schools. The center’s main meadow area has been restored with a rain garden to collect storm water runoff and prevent erosion. It also has been enhanced with garden beds, picnic areas and tree swings. Funds raised during this year’s campaign will be spent on improvements on both the grounds and the facilities of Dunwoody Park, including a planned classroom expansion, signage, displays, and other passive education media for park visitors.
