A Whataburger worker in Texas is thanking her "Whatafamily" who stepped up so she can meet her first great-grandchild.
Dawn Henley has worked the morning shift at the Denton Whataburger for 16 years, she told WFAA. Over the years, Henley has developed a camaraderie with a host of regular customers.
Henley was proud to announce the birth of her great-grandson in Indiana last month, sharing photos of the newborn with customers. When longtime customer Richard Birch heard that Henley wouldn't be able to go meet her great-grandson because she couldn't afford the travel expenses, he stepped up.
Birch and his wife bought Henley a round-trip ticket and a new set of luggage, WFAA reported. Other customers also donated to make Henley's trip special.
Henley said she will visit her family in Indiana this month.
