William Holt ran the distance.
During the final home game of the season for Walter J. Baird Middle School in Lebanon, Tennessee, Holt was honored by his teammates, fans and opponents.
The seventh grader, who has autisim and sometimes helps manage the Blue Devils, dressed out for the first time.
Both coaches then had a play drawn for him.
On the first play of the game, Holt took the handoff and ran yards toward the end zone.
Afterward his parents expressed their gratitude to the community for embracing their son in just three years' time.
