Lynda Tennent started her day Wednesday with a routine errand and in a split-second, things took a bizarre turn.
She went to get gas at Parker's on Altama Avenue near the Altama Connector around 6:45 a.m.
While she was near the pump, a deer lept over her, kicking her in the head.
"I really thought I was getting robbed," Tennent said.
People rushed over to her, but she said she and the deer were OK. She ended up with a knot on her head; she said the deer hit the building, got up and ran through some nearby apartment complexes and back into the woods.
She said she went inside the gas station, where the employees checked in on her and made sure she was OK. One employee later sent her the surveillance video of the deer leaping over her.
Tennent said she was most concerned with being able to get to work on time.
"How many people in a public place gets attacked by a deer? I'm just thankful it jumped over me," Tennent said.
