Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority has released video that shows the frightful seconds before a freight train collided with a bus and left one passenger seriously injured.
Bus driver Dwayne Magee, 38, was crossing the tracks to make a left Wednesday at the time of the collision.
The bus was hit once and spun around and was hit again, with six people taken to the hospital, according to MARTA.
A 65-year-old man suffered serious head and neck injuries and was hospitalized, MARTA said Friday.
Police have said they’re looking for the driver of a red pickup truck that stopped in front of the bus before the crash.
CSX Transportation spokeswoman Kristin Seay says all safety mechanisms, including crossing gates and warning lights, were working properly at the time of the crash.
Magee, a MARTA employee since 2009, has been released from the hospital. He has been placed on leave with pay during the investigation. He submitted to a drug and alcohol test after the accident, according to MARTA.
