Questionable parenting led to police raiding and shutting down a strip club in Doral Tuesday night, CBS Miami reports.
According to police, Jose Arguelles, 59, brought his 16-year-old daughter and her friend, also 16, to the Pink Pony Gentleman’s Club, where he let them drink, smoke marijuana, snort cocaine and dance on stage.
Hialeah police were alerted when the mother of the 16-year-old’s friend saw a video and pictures of the teens inside the strip club. One of the pictures showed the 16-year old dancing on a pole with a stripper.
“The things on the videos, I could describe it as disgusting. An adult has a choice to make his decisions with his own life, but you don’t do that with minors,” the mother said to CBS Miami.
The daughter's friend told Hialeah police that Arguelles took them to the club several times and "she had seen Arguelles give his daughter drugs and alcohol," Miami New Times reports.
He was arrested on charges of child neglect, giving drugs to children and eight counts of sexual performance by a child to promote sex. Arguelles is being held at Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center, with a bond of $45,000, according to New Times.
Arguelles’ attorney, Chris Mancini, claims that “this case was not as serious as it appeared to be … since no facts supporting the ‘sexual performance’ component of that charge were presented in court,” CBS Miami reports.
