Four women apparently overdosed on heroin at a home in western Massachusetts, and police say pre-teen children discovered them and called 911 in time to save them.
The children were at the home in Springfield playing video games in a bedroom when the women, who were unresponsive, were discovered, WWLP-TV reports.
Police, fire and emergency crews responded after a 12-year-old girl called 911 around 12:30 a.m. Sunday, Springfield police Lt. David Kane said.
They found that two of the women did not have a pulse. All four were revived with the opiate reversal drug naloxone. They were all taken to hospitals.
Kane says police found drug paraphernalia and are following up with child welfare officials. There have not been any criminal charged filed yet, Kane said.
