Saturday marks National Sandwich Day and if Oscar Mayer has anything to do with it, you'll enjoy a hot dog sandwich today.
That's right, the famous hot dog maker took to Twitter this week to declare that a hot dog is a sandwich. The company asked for feedback, even setting up a hotline for 24 hours so customers could try to change its mind. Per the comments posted on Oscar Mayer's Twitter feed, more people thought that a hot dog is not a sandwich than agreed with Oscar Mayer's statement.
Ultimately, Oscar Mayer was not convinced, declaring that the hot dog is indeed a sandwich.
