When retirement home workers checked on 93-year-old Evelyn Harvey, her husband Nelson told them she had “passed away during the night.”

The employee left but when crews came to remove Harvey, they discovered a gunshot wound to the back of her head.

The El Paso Times reports that's when Nelson admitted, "the victim had died during the course of the night and made reference that he was tired of her suffering, so he shot her."

Reports show Evelyn suffered from a terminal illness, and her husband believed he was doing the right thing. El Paso police might not agree. They arrested Harvey on a murder complaint. His bail has been set at $25,000.
