A Wisconsin man seen swerving across lanes Sunday was driving drunk with a chicken on his shoulder, police said.

Officers found multiple open cans of beer when they pulled over Ernesto Martinez-Garnica, 42, of Milwaukee, WISN reported.

Investigators said that Martinez-Garnica was also driving around with Teresa, a brown chicken, on his shoulder. The bird was seen fluttering around inside the vehicle, WISN reported.

"There's a guy behind us. He's driving really reckless, but he has a hawk in his car," a caller to 911 said, WISN reported.

The chicken was taken to animal services and will be released to her owner.

Martinez-Garnica was arrested and charged with drunken driving. He was released on bail.
