The iPhone calculator is a handy tool when you’re in need to do a quick calculation, but a “hidden” feature recently had the internet buzzing.

Apparently few people realized that the iPhone's calculator app would let you backspace a mistakenly punched number. With just a quick swipe to the left or right, the mistakes disappear, USAToday reported.

And iPhone users can thank Twitter user @censoredialogue for the hint.

His post showing the shortcut has been retweeted nearly 30,000 times and liked more than 34,000 times.

The feature isn't new, though. According to USAToday, swiping has been available since at least 2010 and iOS4.
