A mother is thanking a police officer for saving her 8-month-old baby when she stopped breathing in her arms.

Video captured on Officer Martin Smith’s body camera in Albuquerque, New Mexico shows a mother holding her baby, Karly Rios. The baby was not moving.

Officer Smith was the first to arrive, and immediately started giving the baby CPR.

After several heart pounding moments, baby Karly woke up, to the relief of her mother and Officer Smith.

“That’s what makes the job good,” said Officer Smith. “That’s the good part.”

Officer Smith says he was just doing his job, and he will never forget baby Karly.
