A fun-filled Halloween night turned into a huge loss for a Florida family after their 10-year-old daughter's custom wheelchair was stolen.
The family told ActionNewsJax they left the wheelchair in front of their home for about an hour while they attended a Halloween party at a neighbor's house across the street. When they returned, the wheelchair was gone.
"An hour later, we realized neither one of us had taken care of it and it was gone," said mother Beth Rasch.
Clara Rasch, 10, has special needs and the wheelchair is customized to her specific disabilities.
"She has seizures and as a result, she has cerebral palsy, global development delay,” said Beth Rasch.
The family’s biggest worry is the wait after they order a new one, which could take up to a year and a half. So now the family is begging for whomever stole their wheelchair to please bring it back.
"No questions asked if we can just get it back to her, that's our plea,” said Beth Rasch. “Just please try to get this chair back to her so she can continue to do all the things she loves to do with her family."
