A police officer directing traffic in the rain was spared from the downpour when a morning commuter offered him his umbrella.
The gesture didn't go unnoticed by local law enforcement.
"You rock," the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office posted on Facebook. "Thank you for being one of the reasons that Forsyth County is awesome."
("Although we need both hands to direct traffic, the thoughtfulness of it all made our deputy's day!" the office added in a comment.)
The post racked up thousands of "likes" and more than 30 shares after it was published about 8:30 a.m. ET.
The driver's kindness inspired other ideas, as one commenter offered to lead a campaign to get umbrella hats for every Forsyth County officer.
"Count me in as well, a small little way to appreciate their efforts in helping us live safe," another commenter replied.
