Enjoying Easter Sunday with a chocolate egg, and not paying a lot for it, sounds like a pretty sweet deal.

But it might not be the best thing in the long run — for bigger reasons than just a waistline size.

According to a report in The Guardian, a price battle among grocers has made a dent on occasional treats, like chocolate eggs. That means lower prices, but you'd better enjoy it while you can. The lack of supply as cocoa farmers in west Africa look for a better income is expected to send the price of chocolate soaring, The Guardian reports.

That means phrases like "potential cocoa shortage" could be a reality in as little as five years, which means chocolate prices will almost certainly soar worldwide.
