It's not the first time residents of the Springs have seen bears, but it's definitely not common to see them in the middle of the day.

"I came out and heard a snapping of branches above me and as soon as I looked up, I see the mother bear and her baby," says a neighbor.

Another neighbor says, "We put the dogs outside in the yard and they start barking like crazy. Well wouldn't you know why, there's two bears up in our tree!"

The mother and cub seem to be wanting to escape the Floria heat by catching some shade in the trees.

Most residents nearby understand the general rule: leave the bears alone, and the bears won't bother you.
