Donald Trump says his strategy to fight the Islamic State would include more than going after terrorists.

“You have to take out their families,” the Republican front-runner told Fox & Friends on Wednesday. “When you get these terrorists, you have to take out their families!”

Trump did not explain how terrorists’ families might be identified or targeted in battle. He also said he would do his “absolute best” to avoid civilian casualties, but said that might be difficult.

“One of the problems that we have and one of the reasons we’re so ineffective is they are using them as shields,” Trump said. “It’s a horrible thing, but we’re fighting a very politically correct war.”

Trump also suggested he would carry out some of his anti-Islamic strategy in secret.

In criticizing President Obama’s plan against the Islamic State, Trump said the president talks too much about the strategy.

“If you do your job, do your job,” Trump said. “Don’t talk about it. Too much talk.”
