Woodstock rejects billboard variance proposal

The Woodstock City Council denied a variance to allow for a several-acre billboard project at its Monday night meeting.

David Tinsley and Bob Postiglione’s request to construct a billboard along Interstate 575 at Exit 9, near the Outlet Shoppes of Atlanta, had been rejected by city staffers in January, because the project would run afoul of city regulations. The city restricts billboards from being placed within 500 feet of single-family zoned or designated properties, and city officials say the board would fall within that distance.

The Council also tabled the pair’s appeal of the city’s earlier denial of the project.
