The ongoing weekend repaving project on the top-end Perimeter had motorists backed up Saturday on I-285 westbound.

At 10:45 a.m., state Department of Transportation traffic cameras showed big traffic jams approaching Ashford Dunwoody Road and again approaching I-285.

The DOT had earlier announced plans to shut down the ramps from I-75 southbound to I-285 eastbound and from I-285 westbound to I-75 northbound in Cobb County through 5 a.m. Monday.

In that same area, the three right lanes of I-285 westbound were expected to be blocked from I-75 to Cobb Parkway until just before Monday’s morning commute.

On I-285 eastbound, the three right lanes were closed from Cobb Parkway to Riverside Drive, and the three right lanes of I-285 westbound were blocked by construction crews from Ashford Dunwoody Road to Roswell Road.

In Gwinnett County, motorists on I-85 in both directions can expect lane closures in the area of Ga. 120 from through 5 a.m. Sunday as crews do work on the Express Lanes.
