County water crews were working Wednesday to cap a broken main along Mount Vernon Road in Dunwoody.

The break was reported around 5:30 a.m. at the intersection of Mount Vernon and Meadowlake Drive.

At 7 a.m., repair crews were trying to find a valve to shut the flow of water to the broken pipe.

Water was bubbling from the ground and had collected into a puddle several inches deep, but traffic was still moving on Mount Vernon.

From there, the leaking water was flowing down a steep hill along Meadowlake and into a storm drain at the bottom of the hill.

Dunwoody police had said Mount Vernon Road might have to be closed once repairs begin.
