If “Espíritu Moderno. Alma Sureña” sounds faintly familiar, it’s Roswell’s marketing motto – “Modern Spirit. Southern Soul” – on the cover of the Roswell Visitors Center’s latest publication, a “Must See Places” brochure in Spanish.

Like its English-language counterpart, the brochure, part of the continuing “Visit Roswell” campaign, contains information on tours, lodging, shopping restaurants and entertainment.

“The ‘Must See’ brochure helps plan a fun-filled day, overnight stay or multi-day trip for visitors who speak Spanish as a native or second language, as well as better inform members of our own community,” according to an announcement by the Visitors Center, part of the Roswell Convention & Visitors Bureau.

In the last six months, the center has greeted more than 3,500 guests from 40 states, Puerto Rico, Washington, D.C., and 21 countries. The Spanish-language brochure is “the first step” in better serving international guests, according to the center, 617 Atlanta St. (at Sloan Street).
