Cobb EMC members elected four new members to the co-op’s board on Saturday, while a runoff will be needed for the two remaining seats.

Three candidates endorsed by the Cobb EMC Owners Association, won their seats. Eric Broadwell, endorsed by a competing contingent of reform groups and some plaintiff who sued the EMD in 2007, beat out the CEOA candidate for his seat. The groups split amid allegations that EMC management had influenced the CEOA endorsements.

Plaintiff Tripper Sharp faces a runonff against Charles Sevier; and Jim Hudson faces a runoff against David McClellan.

The April 21 runoff will also be held at Piedmont Church in Marietta.
