Janice Herbert hopes something can be done about a dangerous pedestrian area that could result in a tragic accident. As the region gets more pedestrian friendly, we are getting more requests about crossings or crosswalks.
“The pedestrian crossing on westbound Dunwoody Club Drive at Mt. Vernon is very dangerous for people crossing the street. The crossing sign is about 50 feet beyond the crossing and is on the backend of the street curve. For much of the year, the crossing sign is hidden behind tree branches. Most cars don’t even slow down when going through this part of the intersection. The pedestrian crossing sign needs to be moved to a place before the westbound street curve and the pedestrian crossing,” she wrote.

Anne Clark wants something done about a confusing situation on the interstate that could lead motorists down the wrong path.
“There is much confusion for motorists exiting I-75 and turning right onto Windy Hill. Many motorists get into the far right lane (that goes to Interstate N. Parkway) and then veer over at the last second to the second right lane (which goes to Windy Hill). In their confusion, very few motorists check to see if they can safely make the lane change, causing many near misses. Although signs are hanging above, it would be useful to have directions painted on the lanes leading up to the turns,” she wrote.
