Suwanee officials are inviting the public to provide input on the city’s Pedestrian and Bicycle Plan update at an open house 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 7 at City Hall, 330 Town Center Ave.

Thirteen years ago, Suwanee created the ‘City of Suwanee Alternate Modes Transportation Plan’ to analyze existing pedestrian and bicycle facilities and identify potential improvements. Since then, the city has successfully implemented many of the projects in the plan, including sidewalks, lane-marking sharrows, and over 15 miles of greenway and multi-use trails.

In 2011 the updated and renamed Pedestrian and Bicycle Plan provided a guide for prioritization and implementation of pedestrian and bicycle facilities to make Suwanee more walkable and bikeable.
