SUNDAY’S WEATHER-TRAFFIC: Cool, sunny day on tap to round out weekend

If you’re a fan of cool autumn days with plenty of sunshine, then Sunday’s for you.

The pleasant weather metro Atlanta enjoyed on Saturday is expected to stick around the next few days, and there’s no rain forecast for the second half of the weekend.

“Heading out on Sunday we’ll start off with sunshine and keep it around through the afternoon,” Channel 2 Action News meteorologist Eboni Deon said.

The day’s off to a chilly start at 44 degrees in Atlanta, so it might be a good idea to bring a light jacket to any morning activities, Deon said.

By Sunday afternoon, however, the temperature in Atlanta is expected to reach the low 60s.

“We’ll see mostly sunny skies as we round out the weekend,” she said, calling Sunday a good day to get out and about.

The nice weather should linger through mid-week, with temperatures in the 50s and 60s each day through Wednesday, Deon said.

As for traffic, Georgia Department of Transportation crews are working on Atlanta’s interstates this weekend, so drivers are urged to give themselves a little extra time.

Drivers shouldn’t expect any football-related delays on Sunday as the Atlanta Falcons are in Charlotte taking on the Carolina Panthers.

Kickoff is at 1 p.m.
