Sugar Hill is embracing the city’s history of moonshining on the Chattahoochee by affectionately calling their downtown entertainment area “Sugar Hill’s Intersection of Neighborhoods and Entertainment,” or the SHINE District.

The nostalgically humorous new name is a way for the city to bring attention to their downtown focused on the arts and entertainment. “We think it’s a fun way to honor our history as we look to the future.”

Visitors to downtown will be able to purchase alcohol from an establishment or vendor within the SHINE District in a non-glass SHINE marked to-go cup and carry the open container anywhere within the SHINE District.

The city's website contains a map marking the SHINE District boundaries including the entire E Center, The Bowl, and the Splash Park: www.cityofsugarhill.com/introducing-the-sugar-hill-shine-district/.
