Stonecrest groups applying for improvement grant

The Stonecrest Growth Initiative Task Force and the Stonecrest Business Alliance plan to apply for a grant from the Atlanta Regional Commission to plot the future of the area around the Mall at Stonecrest.

The $150,000 Livable Centers Initiative or LCI grant will require $30,000 in matching funds to be awarded. The area has applied twice before for the funding, which organizers hope to use to develop growth strategies.

Deadline for the grant is Dec. 16.
