You won't mind losing an hour of sleep this weekend, as the forecast for daylight savings' return calls for sunny skies and highs in the low-70s.

Daylight savings, the brainchild of New Zealand entomologist George Vernon Hudson, will remain through the first Sunday in November -- almost two-thirds of the year.

As well as moving your clocks forward at 2 a.m. Sunday, the Gwinnett County Department of Fire and Emergency Services reminds people to change batteries in your smoke detector.
