Gwinnett Commissioners approved a joint agreement with Peachtree Corners to improve the intersection at Buford Highway and Jimmy Carter Boulevard as well as the southbound merge from Peachtree Industrial Boulevard onto State Route 141/Peachtree Parkway onto Peachtree Industrial Boulevard. In the same agreement, the two parties will widen Spalding Drive from Winters Chapel Road to Holcomb Bridge Road.
The estimated total cost for the Buford Highway intersection improvement is $10 million. The Spalding Drive widening will run $3 million and the merge from Peachtree Industrial Boulevard to Peachtree Parkway is expected to cost another $3 million. The county will manage the projects, with funds provided by a 2014 SPLOST.
