The Snellville city council voted unanimously Monday evening to contract with design firm Clark, Patterson, Lee of Suwanee to update plans for the city’s town center.

The $40,000 contract will look at a mix of commercial, retail and residential development for the area. In addition to detailed plans, the firm will evaluate and make recommendations for storm water management, land planning and all engineering factors.

Snellville had made plans previously for a mixed-use development of the downtown area, which were placed on hold during the economic downturn.
