Rezoning was approved 7-0 Monday by the Smyrna City Council for a new medical office building on Belmont Circle near Windy Hill Parkway.

The 5,000-square-foot commercial building will be constructed on 0.4 acres by Yorkshire Real Estate Corp. that will be General Commercial-Conditional instead of Neighborhood Shopping to allow the dentist office as a permitted use.

The applicant plans to relocate some of the existing businesses (the pharmacy and dentist office) from 969 Windy Hill Road to the proposed commercial building since the city acquired the property at 969 Windy Hill Road for the Windy Hill Road Improvement Project.
