A 15-lot subdivision was approved 5-1 Feb. 19 by the Smyrna City Council.

Opposed to the rezoning was Councilwoman Susan Wilkinson although she favored the annexation.

Mayor Max Bacon said, “Had it not been annexed, the property would have been rezoned anyway by the county.”

Epic Homes will build the single-family residences at 3328 and 3366 Old Concord Road at Concord Road.

The subdivision will be built on 4.2 acres that will be annexed into the city from Cobb County on March 1.

However, Cobb will retain 9,000 square feet that will become a passive park at the corner of Old Corner Road and Concord Road.
