After establishing the Smyrna Market Village Restaurant District in February, the Smyrna City Council voted unanimously May 7 to expand that district so that patrons may carry out alcoholic beverages from more restaurants but not between restaurants.

The borders of the Restaurant District now includes the area that extends from Village Green Circle between King Street SE and Atlanta Road SE to the Smyrna Market Village area.

This change includes The Corner Tacqueria, Atkins Park Tavern, Vintage Tavern, Zucca Bar and Pizzeria, Cafe Lucia, Smyrna Beer Market, Vineyard Wine Market and Porch Light Latin Kitchen.

Within the Restaurant District, patrons who buy an alcoholic beverage at one restaurant cannot carry that beverage into another restaurant.

Also, they cannot be consumed in parking lots or, unless authorized by the city, in public buildings.

The February guidelines still apply of no more than 16 ounces in a paper or plastic cup per person from 11 a.m. to midnight.
