Gwinnett County school board member Dan Seckinger made the board's monthly meeting Thursday his first stop on the way home from rehabilitation.

Seckinger came to the school board meeting in a wheelchair and with his left hand in a cast.

"My back is kind of sore," he said. "I'm so blessed and thankful to be here."

Seckinger, a Republican from Buford, has served on the school board since January 1995.

Joined the School Board in January 1995. Re-elected in November 2010, his current term
