The public has until Dec. 6 to comment on the update to Sandy Springs’ comprehensive plan, known as the Next Ten Comprehensive Land Use Plan – the city’s official vision for the next 10 years.

To be considered for incorporation in the document, comments must be submitted by the end of the Sandy Springs City Council public hearing and meeting scheduled for Dec. 6. They can be submitted online through the comments form provided on the Next10 website or by email, TheNextTen@SandySpringsGA.gov

The plan spells out 10 “overarching themes”: neighborhood preservation; improved mobility by managing and reducing traffic; better connections between neighborhoods; expanded, more accessible open space; community balance in such areas as housing; maximize the potential of transit; continue to be economically competitive; promote redevelopment for better walkability; create unique places throughout the city; and develop tools to manage development and implement the vision.

Copies of the plan and four sets of "Small Area Plans" — for the Roswell Road Corridor, Perimeter Center Improvement District, Powers Ferry and the North Springs MARTA station and new MARTA station — can be downloaded from the Next Ten website.
