Roswell has scheduled a groundbreaking ceremony for 3 p.m. Friday to kick off a six-month, $1.3 million project to improve Grove Way and Bush Street near the historic center of town.
The project will improve visibility and enable two-way traffic, officials said. It will remove a vertical curve and slightly widen Grove Way and Bush. It also includes a sidewalk and a new water line. The city’s contractor, JFC Corp., will work from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. and is expected to finish by the end of August.
Better fire, emergency and public access is promised to the Child Development Association – which plans significant improvements to its site and parking area – as well as Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, the Housing Authority of Roswell and the new Veranda at Groveway mixed-use, mixed-income development, officials said.
Bush, from Pleasant Avenue to Grove Way and part of Grove Way, from Bush to the CDA property, will be closed to traffic during the work. Forrest and Pleasant Hill streets are suggested alternates. The project is funded through Roswell’s Capital Project, Water and Community Development Block Grant funds.
