A divided Roswell City council vote 4-2 Monday night to adopt a new citywide branding campaign, including a redesigned logo, updated graphics and designs and the tagline “modern spirit, southern soul.”
Approval came after several speakers lauded the plan developed over several years and said Roswell needed refurbished branding to help it compete with surrounding communities. Other speakers and one councilman objected to the logo’s design.
Implementation of the plan will take 3 to 5 years, with the city replacing the old branding with the new on city stationary, uniforms, vehicles and signage. The economic development group Roswell Inc. and the city‘s convention and visitors bureau will also use the material.
Council members also approved a three-year phased in festive and holiday lighting plan which will be phased in over three years. It seeks to bring bring new multi-colored illumination to Roswell City Hall, the Roswell Cultural Arts Center, Heart of Roswell Park and the Historic Town Square.
