Powder Springs officials held an open house Dec. 11 for residents to choose their favorite options for the new town center with amenities and improvements to intersections and a passive park.

Each resident was given a packet of dots to affix to several renderings at the Ron Anderson Recreation Center, 3820 Macedonia Road, Powder Springs.

There are two layout options for the town center, 26 amenity options for the town center and four options for intersection improvements at Flint Hill Road and Pine Grove Drive at Powder Springs Road.

Town center amenity options include playable art, water features, bench seating, a fireplace art sculpture, an amphitheater, a multi-use lawn, a splash pad, outdoor ping pong tables, a water wall, an artistic shade pavilion, a stage cover and various styles of night lighting.

No formal presentation was given.

This open house was the first opportunity for the public to view and provide feedback for not only the town center concept but also the Powder Springs Road intersection improvement concepts and the passive park improvements proposed for Hopkins Road.

A brochure of the design options from TSW, the city’s Town Center Design consultants, also was provided.
