Two Cobb County pizza delivery drivers are being compared to a pair of 1970s TV crime fighters after they helped police track down a robbery suspect.

Chris Albright told AM750 and 95.5FM News/Talk WSB that he and another driver were standing outside the Pizza Hut at Windy Hill and Olive Springs roads around 9:30 p.m. Wednesday when three men who had entered the restaurant moments earlier came running out with the cash till and guns.

Cobb police Sgt. Dana Pierce said that one of the three masked suspects pointed a handgun at a female employee, who ran from the business.

"In addition to taking the female's pocketbook, one of the suspects hopped the counter and took the cash drawer from the register before fleeing on foot," Pierce said.

When the three ran out of the restaurant, Albright and his co-worker "looked at each other and decided we were gonna chase them in our vehicles," Albright told WSB.

He said they followed the suspects, who were on foot, while phoning police.

Albright and his coworker tailed the suspects to a house on Dewey Lane, in a neighborhood behind the restaurant.

There, police arrested Abdul Griffin, 17, of Smyrna, Pierce said. Griffin was charged with armed robbery and is being held without bond in the Cobb County Adult Detention Center.

"Detectives are seeking the identity of the other two suspects who were involved in the robbery, and anyone with information about them will remain anonymous," Pierce said.

He asked that anyone with information call investigators at 770-499-3945.

"My boss just came up with a new nickname for us: Starsky and Hutch," Albright told WSB.
