Over 50 citizens attended the first of two community meetings held in Peachtree Corners Aug. 11 as part of the city’s efforts to develop a comprehensive transportation plan. Residents were asked to participate in a number of interactive activities to help identify areas of need within the city. Attendees ranked transportation needs in order of importance, with “make transportation decisions that improve the quality of life in the community” topping the list.
Participants were also asked to identify specific areas of the city they felt needed improvement. A number of intersections were identified including Spalding Drive at Holcomb Bridge Road, Peachtree Corners Circle at Peachtree Parkway and Winters Chapel Road at Peachtree Industrial Boulevard.
The Aug. 11 presentation and a link to an online survey are available at www.peachtreecornersga.gov under the “News” tab.
At the next meeting on Nov. 17, Pond & Company, the urban engineering firm contracted to work with the city, will present their preliminary findings based on the Aug. 11 meeting and results from the online survey. Attendees will be given an opportunity to comment on the recommendations.
